In Cornwall, short-term holiday lets are seen by many as a major problem as property owners find it more profitable to let properties that they own (and don’t live in) on platforms such as AirBnb rather than let them to local families looking for a long-term rental to live in.
The government has started a 12-week consultation around the issues relating to short-term holiday lettings.
Anyone can make their thoughts known about this issue by responding to the online consultation form on the government website.
It is important that as many people as possible respond to this so that the government understands the depth of feeling that residents of Cornwall have about this issue and the need for action to be taken.
